Yemaya – Mother of the Oceans

Goddess of the Sea • Nurturer of Life • Keeper of the Waters

Opening the Scroll

“I am the rhythm of the tide,
the salt of your tears,
the womb of all beginnings.
I carry your prayers upon my waves,
I wash your spirit clean.
Come to my waters —
and be made whole.”
— Yemaya

The Message

Yemaya, honored in Yoruba and Afro-Caribbean traditions, is the great Mother of the Oceans — the source from which all life emerges. She is the goddess of nurturing, protection, and fertility, often depicted as a mermaid or radiant mother whose embrace is as vast as the sea.

Her waters remind us of our origins: that we are born from the womb of the ocean and sustained by her flow. Yemaya teaches us to release our burdens into her tides, to cleanse ourselves in her currents, and to trust that her motherly embrace is always present. She is both fierce and gentle, offering healing, renewal, and unconditional love.

The Invitation

What within you is ready to be washed clean?
How can you return to the waters of nourishment and renewal?
Rest with Yemaya —
and let her tides restore your soul.

🌹May the wisdom you received today
become a light for your journey.
Blessings, always —
