The Message
Inanna, the ancient Sumerian goddess, is known as the Queen of Heaven and Earth. She embodies both love and war, fertility and sovereignty. Her most famous myth is the Descent into the Underworld, where she relinquished her symbols of power at each gate, was struck down, and then rose again renewed.
Inanna teaches us that transformation requires surrender. Her journey through death and rebirth reflects our own descents into darkness and the courage to rise with greater wisdom. She shows us that true sovereignty comes not from control but from the willingness to let go, to be humbled, and to emerge transformed.
